Art In Island : A 3D Art Exhibit

Mood: photo tongueout-1.gif

Almost a week ago, my mother and her batch mates decided to go on a trip to the largest 3D art exhibit in the Philippines. They needed someone to take their pictures so I tagged along. I was interested in attempting creative shots too so I was excited about it.

Information:
Art In Island is located at 175 15th Ave., Brgy. Socorro,, 1109 Cubao, Quezon City, Philippines. We went there riding a rented van. This was more comfortable and way better than commuting. They are open from Tuesday-Sunday from 9:30 AM - 9:30 PM. NO SHOES allowed inside. The entrance is Php 500 for adults, Php 400 for students, 50% off if you return with the ticket that you bought the last time you went, and FREE if it's your birthday.

I would suggest to call in first to know whether or not there are a group of people who have reserved the place. That would mean there are at least 200 people that had booked the place (because that's the minimum number for reservation) and it would be more hectic than usual. We went there early in the morning thinking we would maximize the time and take as much pictures, but there was a field trip from some elementary school. There were more than 6 buses of students that came in. The place is huge and there are a lot of 3D paintings for everyone. However, having kids running around and just staying at one painting you really want to take a photo with, would test your patience. Since the place is open until 9:30 PM, it would have probably been a better idea to come late afternoon with at least 3 hours of time before it closes. I'm not sure about the traffic, but the place would have been better to stay at if there wasn't a crowd.

Bring socks and something clean to wipe yourself with. Shoes aren't allowed inside and the floor is cold. If you're a little older, walking around for hours -bare footed, would not be pleasant for your feet or legs either. If you are creative, there are some poses that would require you to clean yourself afterwards. Clean hands and any other part of the  body is just a thing. Poses might include touching the floor or the walls etc. Better have something to wipe the dirt off just in case. Here are some photos that we took:

My mother surfs.

♫ Out of the sea, wish I could be, part of that woooorrlldd

♫ My heart is beating like a jungle drumm. Rupupum pum rupupum pum

Heard something up there
Ha! LOL
Because the pose opportunities are just -

When knighting becomes overrated

Yes, the bridge can hold that many
Accidents occur when people suddenly pose in front of your feet causing you to fall. This is why I highly advice to check whether or not there would be plenty of people coming. The good thing is, there are standby staffs around just in case something like this happened. They were quick and friendly too. ++
Mother knows no fear. Haha. There are stickers on the floor that would guide you on where the angle is best for the 3D effect. Since there were a lot of people, this was it. Still a pretty fun pose, mother.
I suppose we look alike ;-)

Fee-fi-fo-fum!

When gravity is on your side. LOL

I've always wanted to be a giant O.O

This was the most difficult to pose in. There were so many other paintings on the sides and people would just be blocking the shot. Hopefully they would put lines on the side for this. We had to be quick and say "excuse us" more than 50 times just to get one clear shot. Cropping is a chore.
♫ I want some money. Money, money, money.

Of course there would be opportunities to use any built in camera effect such as the drama shot in Samsung phones. If there weren't any, there are fun applications that can be downloaded for free in the app store. Unless you're using Apple; in which case, unless it's built-in you're going to have to pay.

When you love yourself a little too much. At least before letter E.

All in all, the place was exciting and so much fun if only we all had the energy and time to pose with all the paintings. Either way, we still got hundreds of good pictures that are extremely fun to look at. Definitely a great place for a good group of people.
