Art In Island : A 3D Art Exhibit

Mood: photo tongueout-1.gif

Almost a week ago, my mother and her batch mates decided to go on a trip to the largest 3D art exhibit in the Philippines. They needed someone to take their pictures so I tagged along. I was interested in attempting creative shots too so I was excited about it.

Information:
Art In Island is located at 175 15th Ave., Brgy. Socorro,, 1109 Cubao, Quezon City, Philippines. We went there riding a rented van. This was more comfortable and way better than commuting. They are open from Tuesday-Sunday from 9:30 AM - 9:30 PM. NO SHOES allowed inside. The entrance is Php 500 for adults, Php 400 for students, 50% off if you return with the ticket that you bought the last time you went, and FREE if it's your birthday.

I would suggest to call in first to know whether or not there are a group of people who have reserved the place. That would mean there are at least 200 people that had booked the place (because that's the minimum number for reservation) and it would be more hectic than usual. We went there early in the morning thinking we would maximize the time and take as much pictures, but there was a field trip from some elementary school. There were more than 6 buses of students that came in. The place is huge and there are a lot of 3D paintings for everyone. However, having kids running around and just staying at one painting you really want to take a photo with, would test your patience. Since the place is open until 9:30 PM, it would have probably been a better idea to come late afternoon with at least 3 hours of time before it closes. I'm not sure about the traffic, but the place would have been better to stay at if there wasn't a crowd.

Bring socks and something clean to wipe yourself with. Shoes aren't allowed inside and the floor is cold. If you're a little older, walking around for hours -bare footed, would not be pleasant for your feet or legs either. If you are creative, there are some poses that would require you to clean yourself afterwards. Clean hands and any other part of the  body is just a thing. Poses might include touching the floor or the walls etc. Better have something to wipe the dirt off just in case. Here are some photos that we took:

My mother surfs.

♫ Out of the sea, wish I could be, part of that woooorrlldd ♫

♫ My heart is beating like a jungle drumm. Rupupum pum rupupum pum ♫

Heard something up there
Ha! LOL
Because the pose opportunities are just -
Werk et
When knighting becomes overrated

Yes, the bridge can hold that many
Accidents occur when people suddenly pose in front of your feet causing you to fall. This is why I highly advice to check whether or not there would be plenty of people coming. The good thing is, there are standby staffs around just in case something like this happened. They were quick and friendly too. ++
Mother knows no fear. Haha. There are stickers on the floor that would guide you on where the angle is best for the 3D effect. Since there were a lot of people, this was it. Still a pretty fun pose, mother.
I suppose we look alike ;-)

Fee-fi-fo-fum!

When gravity is on your side. LOL

I've always wanted to be a giant O.O

This was the most difficult to pose in. There were so many other paintings on the sides and people would just be blocking the shot. Hopefully they would put lines on the side for this. We had to be quick and say "excuse us" more than 50 times just to get one clear shot. Cropping is a chore.
♫ I want some money. Money, money, money. ♫

Of course there would be opportunities to use any built in camera effect such as the drama shot in Samsung phones. If there weren't any, there are fun applications that can be downloaded for free in the app store. Unless you're using Apple; in which case, unless it's built-in you're going to have to pay.

When you love yourself a little too much. At least before letter E.

All in all, the place was exciting and so much fun if only we all had the energy and time to pose with all the paintings. Either way, we still got hundreds of good pictures that are extremely fun to look at. Definitely a great place for a good group of people.

Nuvali For The Kids

Hello again fishies. You look like a painting.

This may be a little late to post, but I went again yesterday just to chill and thought this might be something nice to share.

Standing by the rail while feeding the fish was extremely relaxing. If anything, it was hypnotizing. Like a kid, I couldn't stop watching them. I had questions in my head; is the amount of food they get enough, or is it too much? What happens when they keep multiplying? Even if the ones in charge transferred them due to over population, wouldn't the water be a massive fish toilet by then? There's no exit for the water after all. I wonder if all the fish there had really strong muscles. It feels like they get a good  workout trying to get the food first. What does fish with "tough muscles" taste like? Will they be chewy?

While wondering all these, I kept staring and watching their picturesque movements. The Vogue of the underwater world would probably start its production here. On the cover, Emma Watswim. Badabum Tss!

Little man fun.
There's also a boat ride which is pretty cheap. The boat is new and clean, something worth appreciating. The ride isn't lengthy, but would be enough for kids and not so patient adults.

On the entrance a little car rental is all set for children. It reaches an exhilarating speed of about 2mph. Kids will be amused driving their own cars out in the open, where there is surprisingly zero percent chance of a vehicle related accident. But really, the kids enjoy it and it's safe too.

The matter of an adult relaxing is not hard to imagine. The atmosphere is nice, with a balance of modern life and a little nature. A café is available for the restless, and family friendly restaurants are just around.

Dork At Heart (The Mind Museum)

Mood: photo dork.gif

Last August 1st, my cousin and I decided to visit the Mind Museum. We both had our inner child spirit begging to come out. With all that were going on in both our lives, we needed time to just relax and enjoy. I am not big on commuting, but needed every bit of good thrill so my cousin and I decided to go for it. With all the thieves, killers and modus sa news, oh sure I wasn't scared at all, I was terrified. But I kept my paranoia to myself and did my best to enjoy the "normal" way people do things. We rode a jeep, and 2 buses to get to the museum. It was a lengthy commute and we had to walk quite a lot, but it was EXTREMELY cheap compared to gas or cab fare, and kinda fun. We only spent exactly 32 pesos each. I brought wipes, alcohol, and tissue, so I felt little better about the germ-y paranoia.

We arrived between 3 hour schedules. If you didn't know it yet, the museum has 3 hour shift schedules. Meaning you can buy their tickets which are good for three hours at a schedule or buy tickets for a whole day of entering at any time with additional cost. Trust me, 3 hours is just enough. It's a little impractical to buy the whole day flexible tickets. Just plan where to go to first before going in, you'll finish everything in 3 hours or less. Here are a few pictures we took.

We opted to go to the playground first and stayed there for 30 minutes give or take. We were able to play with everything, but we enjoyed the bubbles the most.

I understand the work and money put into making the museum. I know the people who made it happen need some form of representation. But why? Why this? It scared me. the kid behind me asked his father why the bald man was angry. I laughed a little.

The first thing we did upon entering was checked the schedule for the shows. In total there were three shows with a schedule, and one that was to be announced. We figured we could watch all first before going around. This way, time management would be better. We watched the show at the pretty planetarium which was about 30 minutes. After that we went directly to the next 2 shows across. It was on 3D and was about 15 minutes each.

Fossil finding was cool too.

Ah-ha!
These looked so real, it was creepy.

Sadako mode. Right after the static ball.

Great Places To Go To In Tagaytay

I'm craving for a one day road trip. I was thinking of places to go, and the closest and made a lot of sense to go to from Manila, is Tagaytay. I've been to Tagaytay so many times that it doesn't excite me any more. The thing is, whenever I went there, my family and I would stay at a maximum of two places. Also, we mostly just go there to eat. I've come to a conclusion that a trip would be more fun if we had more activities. I went to search for things to do...

1.Tagaytay Ridge Zipline And Cable Car - Click for website.

2. Mushroom Burger
The obvious choice for food. Although my last experience here was hair on my food. I ordered rice. I don't know if this makes any difference but people come here for the burger. So I shall watch my friends munch on mushroom burger's "unique" sense of humor. Yay mushrooms! -_-

3. Picnic Grove - Just a place to hang out on.
*Nice view.
*Lots of souvenir.
*Near horse riding.
*Maybe even a boat ride to Taal Volcano.
*And yeah, picnic stuff.

The following are other calm places. Beautiful places to visit:
4. Palace In The Sky - Will go here for the view. Very high.
5. Flower Farm - Beautiful flowers. Nature at its best.
6. Tagaytay Zoo - I don't remember this zoo being so typical. You can get so close to the animals it's scary. The last time I went here I was a kid, so I'm not sure if this still looks the same and if all the animals are still there.
